Prices are in pounds sterling, wherever you are based. Anything beyond the listed features is quoted in writing before it is added. UK agencies typically quote £10,000 to £25,000 for a simple app; I charge less because there is no office, no account managers and no outsourcing.

Add-ons

  • Android version (40%)+£600 / +£1,400
  • AI chat assistant+£1,000
  • Card payments (Stripe)+£750
  • Store listing: icon, screenshots, copy+£250
  • Web app instead of App Storefrom £800
  • Extra changes after launch£45 / hour

Android, AI chat and card payments can be added when you order online. Store listing and web app are quoted by email.

Care plans, if you want one

The build price is the same either way and the code is yours: 50% deposit to start, 50% when Apple approves the app, then 30 days of free bug fixes. After that, changes are £45 an hour, quoted first, or a care plan keeps the app healthy. Plans start the month after launch, roll monthly with 30 days' notice, and unused hours last 3 months.

Care

£49 / month

  • iOS and App Store updates, security patches, bug fixes, 1 hour of changes a month, email support

Starter apps that rarely change

Add Care to my order

Care Plus

£149 / month

  • Everything in Care, 4 hours of changes a month, content and menu updates, a short monthly report, priority replies

Business apps with regular updates

Add Care Plus to my order

Care Pro

£299 / month

  • Everything in Care Plus, 10 hours a month for new features, usage analytics, same-day response on problems

Apps your customers rely on daily

Add Care Pro to my order
  • You own the code and the App Store listing from the day of final payment.
  • Apple's own developer fee (£79 a year, paid to Apple) is the only cost not included.
  • If the scope changes mid-build, the price changes first, in writing, never on the invoice.
  • Refunds, cancellations and the rest are in the terms.

App development

Apps for the kind of business you actually run.

Native iPhone, iPad and Android apps, taken all the way from idea to the App Store and Google Play.

  • Swift and SwiftUI for iOS, Kotlin and Compose for Android
  • App Store review, release pipeline and listings handled for you
  • Updates, bug fixes and store screenshots after launch

Try it: what your customers would tap.

Bookings, online orders and invoices, working the way they would in your own app. Tap through them.

Bookings with a deposit

Customers pick a service and a free time, pay a small deposit and get a reminder the day before. Fewer no-shows, no phone tag.

Demo only: nothing is booked or charged.

AI for business

AI that does the boring parts of the job.

Practical AI for small teams: the right tools, wired into how you already work, with your data kept where it belongs.

  • AI receptionist

On WhatsApp, phone and web chat. It answers customers day and night, books appointments into your calendar and hands over to your mobile when a person is needed.

  • Chatbot trained on your documents

Customers or staff ask, and it answers from your price lists, policies and manuals. When it does not know, it says so instead of guessing.

  • AI agents that work on a schedule

Sorting the inbox, drafting quotes, chasing follow-ups, writing weekly reports. They have hard limits and ask you before anything risky.

  • Paperwork on autopilot

Invoices, receipts and PDFs are read and typed into your spreadsheets or accounting software.

  • AI inside your apps

Claude, Gemini and voice AI built into your apps and workflows. Your own tools get smarter without changing how you work.

  • Watchdogs that tell you when something breaks

You get a message on your phone when a site, booking system or order feed stops working.

AI agents that do real work

Small, narrow agents that handle one job each, with you in charge. Each one tells people it is an AI.

Front-desk agent

Answers customer chats on your website at any hour, with phone calls as a later stage. It books appointments, then emails you a summary of every conversation.

Example conversation

Example only, not a real customer.

  1. Customer: Do you have anything on Thursday afternoon?
  2. Agent: I'm an AI assistant for the salon. Thursday has 2:00 and 4:30 free. Which would you like?
  3. Customer: 4:30 please.
  4. Agent: Booked for 4:30 on Thursday. The owner will get a summary. Want me to pass you to a person instead? Just say so.
Connects to
Your website chat, your calendar, your email. Phone calls are a later stage and are agreed separately.
What a person still does
You take over whenever the customer asks, and you handle anything unusual, any complaint and any refund.
What we don't claim
It does not know your business beyond what you give it, it can mishear or misunderstand, and I do not promise it will answer every question.

Booking agent

Makes, moves and cancels bookings against your business calendar, and sends reminders before each appointment.

Example conversation

Example only, not a real customer.

  1. Customer: Can I move my appointment to next week?
  2. Agent: I'm an AI assistant. Your booking is on Tuesday at 10:00. Next week I can offer Monday at 11:00 or Wednesday at 3:00.
  3. Customer: Wednesday.
  4. Agent: Done. Your reminder will go out the day before.
Connects to
Your business calendar, your website chat or WhatsApp (business use only) and your email.
What a person still does
You set the opening hours and the rules, and you deal with any clash the agent cannot resolve.
What we don't claim
It cannot see anything outside the calendar you connect, and it does not guarantee that nobody will miss an appointment.

Lead qualifier

Asks visitors the right questions on your website or on WhatsApp (business use only), then emails you a ranked list of the enquiries worth calling first.

Example conversation

Example only, not a real customer.

  1. Visitor: I need my kitchen redone.
  2. Agent: I'm an AI assistant for the firm. Roughly when would you like to start, and which area are you in?
  3. Visitor: In the spring, near the city centre.
  4. Agent: Thanks. I will pass this on and someone will reply by email.
Connects to
Your website chat or WhatsApp (business use only), and your email.
What a person still does
You read the ranked list, decide who to contact and make every quote.
What we don't claim
The ranking is a guide, not a prediction, and it can get a lead wrong.

Price: ask for a quote

Quote chaser

Sends polite follow-ups when a quote has gone unanswered. You approve every message before it goes out.

Example conversation

Example only, not a real customer.

  1. Agent draft: Hello, I'm an AI assistant writing for the firm. Just checking you received the quote sent last week. Any questions?
  2. Owner: Approved.
  3. Agent: Sent. I will note the reply when it arrives.
Connects to
Your email and your list of open quotes.
What a person still does
You approve each message and you take over once the customer replies.
What we don't claim
It cannot make a customer say yes, and it never sends anything you have not approved.

Payment and review nudger

Drafts reminders for unpaid invoices and requests for reviews after a job. You approve each one.

Example conversation

Example only, not a real customer.

  1. Agent draft: Hello, I'm an AI assistant writing for the firm. Invoice 1042 is still open. Would you like the payment details again?
  2. Owner: Approved.
  3. Agent: Sent. I will tell you if there is a reply.
Connects to
Your email and your invoice list. Customers pay through your own accounts.
What a person still does
You approve every reminder and review request and you handle any dispute.
What we don't claim
It does not chase anyone on its own, and it cannot guarantee that an invoice is paid or a review is left.

Private knowledge assistant

Answers staff questions from the firm's own documents, running on a computer in your own office. See private local AI.

Example conversation

Example only, not a real customer.

  1. Staff member: What is our policy on returns?
  2. Assistant: I'm an AI assistant. According to the returns policy document, items can be returned within the period stated there. I can open that section for you.
  3. Staff member: Please do.
  4. Assistant: Here it is. If the document does not cover your case, ask a colleague.
Connects to
The documents you choose, on your own computer. It can work with the internet switched off.
What a person still does
Your staff check anything important against the source document and make the final decision.
What we don't claim
It answers only from the documents you give it, it can still get things wrong, and it says so when it does not know.

Private local AI

AI that never leaves the building.

Private, on-premises AI when data cannot leave the building.

The AI model runs on a computer in your office. It can work with the internet switched off, so client files, health records or financial data never go to an outside company. It is a good fit for clinics, solicitors, accountants and anyone with confidential data.

  • Works offlineNo internet connection needed to use it.
  • Data stays in the buildingYour files are not sent to anyone else.
  • Your hardware, your modelIt runs on a computer you own.
  • Total controlYou decide who uses it and what it can see. Switch it off any time.

Websites

A small-business website that takes bookings and payments.

Fast, simple websites for small businesses, built by one person and written in plain English.

  • Online bookings that go straight into your calendar
  • Card payments and mobile wallets through your own Stripe account, so the money never passes through Cambyte
  • An optional AI receptionist that chats with visitors and always says it is an AI

Your website is yours. You can see every payment in your own Stripe account, and a person is always one click away from the assistant.

Price: ask for a quote. Every website is priced per project. Care plans are available if you want someone to look after the site afterwards.

The demo is a made-up business. Nothing in it is real, and no payment is taken.

Draw & Learn to Talk with Bob

Shipped, public, and yours to try.

Everything here is live. Download it, play it, check it.

Live on the App Store · iPhone & iPad · Education · Ages 5 and under · Free 7-day trial · No ads · No sign-up · Works offline

Download what I built. The first week is free.

Most developers show you screenshots. I would rather you put a finished app on your own phone and judge for yourself.

A children's drawing app: kids trace, colour and learn first words, letters and numbers while Bob the robot says every word out loud in 19 languages. I designed it, built it, took it through Apple's strict Kids-category review and published it. It has had four releases, the latest adding a free trial and in-app subscriptions. Everything you see in it, I can do for your business.

Also built here first

  • In development

AI Secretary, a WhatsApp AI receptionist. A test version answered WhatsApp messages end to end in October 2026.

  • Live

Marketing automation: weekday outreach emails with safety checks and an hourly App Store ad optimiser with hard spending limits.

  • Built

Local AI across two computers: a gaming PC and a Mac mini, linked by Thunderbolt, ran a large open model with no cloud service.

How it works

No jargon. No surprises on the invoice.

  1. Ask, then email

My AI assistant on this page answers questions about apps, prices and ordering at any hour. When you are ready, email me about the business and I ask the awkward questions. If a call would help, I arrange one by phone or video, from any country. No obligation.

  2. Written plan

Within two days you get a one-page plan: what the app does, screen by screen, the price and the date. Starter and Business keep their website price; Custom gets a fixed quote. Agree it and we start within a week (buying as a private person: after your 14-day cancellation period, unless you ask to start sooner).

  3. Build, with you watching

A test version on your own phone within the first week, then updates every few days. You see it grow and steer it.

  4. Launch and handover

I submit to Apple and deal with their review, which usually takes one to three days (the launch date is Apple's call). Then you get the code, the accounts and a plain-English guide. After that, care plan or goodbye, your call.

Questions

Things people ask before they email.

How does paying online work?

For a Starter or Business app, choose your extras in the order form under the prices and pay the 50% deposit on Stripe's secure checkout. I then email you, usually the same working day, to book a kickoff call and agree the written plan. Buying as a private person, the work waits until your 14-day cancellation period ends, unless you tick the box to start sooner. The other 50% is invoiced when Apple approves your app, and a care plan, if you chose one, starts the month after launch. If what you need turns out bigger than the package, I tell you in writing before doing any extra work, and if you would rather not go ahead you get the whole deposit back. The details are in the terms.

Who owns the app and the code?

You do, fully, once the final payment clears. Source code, design files, the App Store listing and any accounts are handed over in your name. If you ever want another developer to take it on, they can.

Do I need an Apple developer account?

Yes. Apple requires apps to be published under the account of the business that owns them, so I set one up with you on day one. It costs £79 a year, paid to Apple. Approval from Apple can take a few days for a sole trader and up to two weeks for a limited company, so we start that first while I build. Apple's review then usually takes one to three days. I handle it, but I never promise a public launch date, because that last step belongs to Apple.

What about Android?

Every app can have an Android version, built natively in Kotlin, for 40% on top of the iPhone price. Many small businesses start with iPhone and add Android once the app is earning its keep. If most of your customers use Android, say so when you email and we plan for both from the start.

What if I want changes after launch?

Without a care plan, email me and you get a quote, usually in hours at £45 an hour. On a care plan you have a bank of hours each month and just ask. Either way, nothing is done without you agreeing it first.

Do you take projects from outside the UK?

Yes, from any country. Everything is done by email, test builds on your own phone and, when needed, a video call, so location does not matter. I work in English or Portuguese and arrange any call at a time that suits your time zone. Businesses near Cambridge can also meet for coffee.

How much does AI work cost?

There is no price list, because every business is different. Email me how your business runs and you get a fixed written quote, and nothing starts until you agree it.

About

Hi, I'm Roberto.

I run Cambyte from Cambridge, UK, and take on projects from any country. I'm an independent developer with an app on the App Store, a Computer Science student at the University of London, and someone who has spent over ten years in public-sector roles explaining complicated things to people who just needed them sorted. That is the job here too: understand the problem, build it properly, explain it clearly.

I use AI tools every day to build and ship software faster, and I run my own local AI hardware, so when I recommend something it is because I have used it, not because it is fashionable.

  • BSc Computer Science, University of London (Goldsmiths), second year, working towards the Machine Learning & AI specialism
  • Google Cybersecurity Professional Certificate
  • Swift, Kotlin, Python, JavaScript, SQL; macOS, Windows and Linux
